Coffee and plants may not be a conventional pairing, but it sure works well in Reno, Nevada. Sam and Sutter opened Sierra Water in 2010 as an outdoor water garden nursery. Over the years, it has evolved into a full-service plant store and as of earlier this year, a coffee shop, too.
Coffee Talk
“Forged Coffee moved into our front room and started operating this past February, so it’s been several months together now. There is just something so fun about going to a plant and coffee shop. It’s a good combo!” raved Sam.

Plants & Pour-Overs
Sam said her customers love the casual vibe and local charm of the place. “People appreciate that what we offer in the shop is thoughtful and we care about where and how things are made and who makes them. The overwhelming comment about our shop is ‘I could live here!’ All of the large plants, special candles, flowers and coffee make the large converted warehouse space a pleasure to wander.”

Indoors, Outdoors – Terra Furniture Works Everywhere
The indoor and outdoor spaces are both furnished with Terra tables and chairs. It may not be traditional to use outdoor furniture inside, but Sam said it’s perfect. “Our shop feels very indoor/outdoor with all of the plants. Having the furniture both inside and outside helps to create a seamless flow when entering our space.”
