Relaxing by the river, surrounded by lush greenery and adorable ducks, you’d never guess you were right in the middle of a city. Established in Reno in 2018, The Hytch caters to couples who want a unique (micro) wedding experience.

We caught up with owner Yeliz (and her pup assistant Benek), to find out what makes her business work. “What started as a vision for intimate, meaningful celebrations quickly turned into a full-service micro wedding and elopement company with a private riverside.

What's a Micro Wedding?

A micro-wedding is a thoughtfully scaled-down celebration, typically hosting between 10 and 50 guests. Unlike an elopement, it still includes meaningful details like a ceremony, reception, and curated décor—but with a more intimate, personalized feel. Couples often choose micro-weddings to create a relaxed, memorable experience that emphasizes connection, simplicity, and beauty over scale.

Garden Party Vibes

The idyllic setting pairs perfectly with the elevated organic a esthetic of The Hytch. “We love blending natural textures with romantic details and a touch of personality. Each wedding is unique and we design everything based on the couple’s vision, whether that’s boho, modern, moody or timeless,” Yeliz said.

Designing Outdoor Spaces with Intention and Elegance

Yeliz chose Terra furniture because she wanted outdoor furniture “that felt just as intentional and beautiful as the rest of the space. Terra’s pieces are timeless, high-quality and designed to complement nature rather than compete with it. They elevate the guest experience without sacrificing comfort or durability.”

Unique Designs for Unique Spaces

The verdant space is designed with several distinct areas that allow guests to experience different vibes and views. The dining area right on the Truckee River sets the stage for memorable meals. The garden deck creates a serene setting for drinks, apps and photo ops. The plant-filled patio is custom-made for laidback lingering. And they’re all furnished with Terra furniture.

Bringing it All Together

According to Yeliz, her clients use the Terra outdoor lounge seating and dining sets the most. “The lounge furniture is perfect for cocktail hours and relaxed mingling, while the dining pieces give us a beautiful foundation for styled receptions. They photograph beautifully and hold up well to frequent use.”

Create Cohesion and Harmony

Just like a successful marriage, The Hytch and Terra are a great match. “Terra furniture strikes the perfect balance between form and function. It looks beautiful in our space and holds up really well for our micro weddings and outdoor events,” Yeliz said. “The style is flexible, so it works with all kinds of themes and helps everything come together easily.”
