We caught up with the Richie family at their coastal oasis in Santa Cruz to revel in the results of their recent outdoor renovation, featuring select furniture pieces from Terra. The Richies primarily live on the other side of the mountains, but they take every opportunity to enjoy their beach house, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean and the dramatic Northern California coastline.
Intro to Terra.
“We first discovered Terra through our yoga instructor. Her boyfriend had just bought this great table and he loved it. So, we went into the Mill Valley store to check it out. We bought the Ravello Dining Table, which we’ve had for five years. We love it and we’re so impressed with the quality.”
Dialing in a smaller space.
“We wanted a sectional outside, but it was a limited space. So many companies make these giant pieces for outdoor spaces. But Terra offers smaller-scale furniture with the same quality we wanted. We went into the store and the person who helped us was a genius. She helped us think through a loveseat hack with a corner piece of a sectional and masked the height difference with a cushion. It’s been perfect for this home.”
Unique needs for unique spaces.
The Richies wanted to be able to dine and gather outside while preserving the view from inside. “We did all our shopping online this time and we loved having all the dimensions available. After measuring and then looking at specs, then measuring more and comparing the dimensions, we picked everything we have here. We needed chair backs to only be so high. Even the couch needed to be low-backed or it would block the view from inside.”
Bringing it all together.
The Richie family was delighted with their White Glove Delivery service (currently available in California and expanding soon to other states). “They gave us a delivery window, showed up on time, set everything up and took their boxes with them. We are thrilled to have an instant outdoor world that’s just how we wanted it. And everything is exactly as pictured on the website. In person, we love it all!”
