We were so excited to meet Ricki in our new Rocklin showroom and show her and her team around a bit. Ricki is the creative force and owner of Ricki Stevens Design, a full-service design firm in Sacramento, California specializing in residential design and construction.

We are inspired by her creative vision and the beautifully designed and landscaped outdoor spaces she creates for her clients. We talked with her about getting her hands dirty with exterior spaces and landscape design.

What does an inspired outdoor space mean to you and your clients?

“I believe an inspired outdoor space is one that flows with its corresponding indoor space, while forming an inviting oasis that beckons you outside. It feels timeless and beautiful, utilizing design choices that will be just as relevant in 5 years as they are now.”

What trends and colors for 2022 are inspiring you right now?

“I try to avoid trends because I am looking to create spaces with longevity, but I have to say I’m excited to see these earth tones coming back in right now. I love being able to layer the patio furniture and add pops of warm neutrals (yellows, oranges and greens) in throw pillows or throw blankets.”
